Today we celebrate National Grand Marnier Day. Grand Marnier is a triple sec liqueur. After it is distilled, an orange peel is added for flavor.
The first triple sec was invented in France in 1849 which inspired many imitations including Grand Marnier (in 1880).
I always keep a bottle in my cupboard for those occasional evenings that I want a cocktail. But I also keep a bottle for cooking. I use it at Thanksgiving in my cranberry sauce as well as flavoring in my Christmas truffles.
Try something new today with Grand Marnier like this White Chocolate Mousse in Chocolate Meringue Shells with Raspberry Coulis recipe.
